Hilt description:
This Karud, a member of the Pesh Kabz family boasts a lovely thick bone slab hilt held in place by steel rivets. It is decorated with red lacquer, an uncommon feature on Karuds. A well-maintained hilt of sound construction showing its age. The hilt is complete with cross-hatched engravings on the bolsters.
Blade description:
The 30.5 CM characteristic T-spine wootz steel blade is in good condition showing a polished sharp edge. The T-spine displays floral engravings and three ridges along the spine of the piece. Although the crystalline wootz pattern is quite subtle it can be seen and would bring out the appearance of the wootz once etched.
The piece is in great condition and has substantial size with uncommon decoration to the hilt and a high quality wootz steel blade. A great example of an Indian Karud.
