This Basket hilt Indian Khanda of incredible form! Has a typical and commonly referred to as “Hindu Basket Hilt” variant of hilt with chiselled metal work leading to a beautiful floral shaped bolster, attached to the blade via a copper rivet. The pommel spike of typical basket hilt form is present and in good condition.

Blade description:

This blade is of typical Khanda form, a double-edged blade with a spatulated tip. The blade gradually widens towards the tip showcasing its aesthetic beauty. The blade reinforcements are in good condition as is the blade. There are hints of patterning on the blade but is not being sold as patterned steel. A great example of a late 19th century khanda.

This is an elegant example of a rare sword form, the Khanda.
